La Casa de Maria y Marta

An Intentional, Healing Community

San Antonio Mennonite Church operates a hospitality house named La Casa de Maria y Marta for asylum seekers recently released from detention. La Casa provides a place for immigrant families to rest, recover, and receive the support of a loving community while they discern their next steps.

Families can stay with us for several months. During that time, we provide them with physical necessities (food, clothing, shelter, and medical care), as well as opportunities for mental and emotional healing and connections to outside services. La Casa is also an intentional community for our entire congregation; members volunteer in various ways throughout a typical week.
